Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to source safe and reliable aromatherapy ingredients and products, and to prepare customised oil blends and other products for use in aromatherapy practice using a sound knowledge of chemistry. It does not include the preparation of aromatic medicines for internal use.This unit applies to aromatherapists.The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. Skills must have been demonstrated in the workplace or in a simulated dispensary environment that reflects workplace conditions. The following conditions must be met for this unit: use of suitable facilities, equipment and resources, including: secure storage areas measuring equipment sterile containers labels natural and manufactured aromatherapy products modelling of industry operating conditions, including preparation of products for the general public supervision by a person who meets the assessor requirements outlined below Assessors must satisfy the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015/AQTF mandatory competency requirements for assessors. In addition, assessors must: have at least 3 years current clinical experience working as a clinical aromatherapist providing services to the general public hold practising membership of an Australian professional body that represents clinical aromatherapists fulfil the continuing professional development requirements of the professional body to which they belong |
